I mean considering the original Arcade release, the NES releases, and GBA Double Dragon Advance which also borrows heavily from the Arcade releases of DD1 and 2 had a grit-like aesthetic with a more serious tone as opposed to the oversaturated colors and surfer dude bros-like comic presentation in Neon. I mean the over the top silliness and synthwave aesthetic is just something I never associated Double Dragon with. It was the first game in the series where Million, the previous owner of the Double Dragon series after Techns Japan became defunct, had no involvement in its development. It was developed by WayForward Technologies and published by Majesco Entertainment, and it is the reboot of the Double Dragon series. However a good game Neon may be, it's noticeably different from the rest of the main Double Dragon titles. Double Dragon Neon is a 2012 beat 'em up video game in the Double Dragon series. That Neon lost the more serious tone for the sake of goofiness and 80's retro stuff.

Is there a mod to speed the game up or something even the older double dragon games were never this slow. I think games like Double Dragon Neon inadvertently make a statement about where gaming is today. Tetra supports usage of a few materials added by other mods, since tetra uses item tags (or the ore dictionary before 1.14) it's difficult to say exactly which mods are supported.
